The house consists of a generous, multifunctional room with joining features such as a kitchen, toilets, and workshop. The flexible plan of the community house allows for different scenarios and events to take place. To create the grid structure, recycled bricks are being used, such as old larger façade elements or bricks rebuilt. The surface of the brick is smoothed with a burlap bag to create a holistic expression where the reused tile is visually exposed as well as creating a link to the new brick in the area.
The community house represents a green lifestyle with functions that connects the house to the garden on the outside. A workshop and a drying room for herbs and vegetables encourage urban agriculture and self-sufficiency. This promotes a sustainable way of living as well as creating an active urban floor.
